It has been said that the best places in the world are the hardest to get to. That is fitting for Telluride, but fortunately there are a wide variety of options to make your travels manageable.

GETTING TO TELLURIDE

BY AIR

Most travelers will choose to fly into Montrose (MTJ), which is the second closest airport to Telluride and an easy 1 hour and 20 minute drive to Town.

OTHER AIRPORT OPTIONS INCLUDE:
Telluride Airport (TEX), is just minutes from Town but offers limited service on Denver Air connection.

Grand Junction (GTJ), Durango (DRO) and Gunnison (GUC) are three additional options all serviced by major airline carriers that are about a 2 hour and 30 minute scenic drive for guests that don't mind renting a car.

TRAVEL TO AND FROM MONTROSE AIRPORT
If arriving in Montrose (MTJ) or Telluride (TEX) then there are private shuttle services to and from the airports that should be scheduled in advance. Telluride Express (888-212-8294) and Telluride Mountain Limo (888-546-6894).

BY CAR

Driving from Denver, CO (DEN) is a beautiful and scenic adventure. Please note, it can take between 6 - 7 hours to make this 300+ mile drive, so plan accordingly.

Driving from Phoenix, AZ (PHX) is another option. This is a 400+ mile drive, and takes about 7 1/2 - 8 hours.

GETTING AROUND TOWN

Once you arrive, a car is not needed to get around town or for any wedding activities. Telluride Town and Mountain Village are accessible by walking and the complimentary Gondola.

The Telluride /Mountain Village Gondola runs daily from 7am to 12 midnight (2am on Friday & Saturday) and there is no charge.

For those staying in Mountain Village, Dial-A-Ride operates 7 days a week and provides point to point transportation in Mountain Village to all residents and guests. Call 970-728-8888 to book your ride.

Rental Cars are available at the airport to accommodate travel to and from the airports. Tip: the rental car businesses in the airport close early. Confirm your appointment with the company prior to your arrival at the airport.

There are no Uber/Lyfts in Telluride. Taxis are available but you need to pre-schedule any trips ahead of time. Telluride Express (888-212-8294) and Telluride Mountain Limo (888-546-6894) are both great options.
